Not only is the FemmyCycle easy to use, but it is also easy to clean! Your FemmyCycle should be cleaned at least twice a day or every 12 hours when the FemmyCycle is removed and emptied during your period.

To clean your FemmyCycle, you will need clean water, liquid soap and a clean dry towel. You can also use our specially formulated FemmyCycle cleaner, made from plant derived cleansers, which you can purchase here.

FemmyCycle Cleaning Instructions

Step 1: Open the inverted (pushed in) lid of the FemmyCycle and pour the contents (menstrual blood) into the toilet, then re-invert or push the lid back down into the cup.

Step 2: Over a sink, tub or toilet, pour clean water and approximately 1 teaspoon of liquid soap or FemmyCycle Cleaner into the cup and swish around. Be sure that you squeeze and shake the water around to thoroughly clean the cup.

Remember: It is important to get the soapy water into the ribbed area of the FemmyCycle brim by massaging the liquid into those spaces.

Step 3: Rinse clean with clean water and dry with a clean cloth or set out to air dry. When not in use, your FemmyCycle can be kept in its soft carrying case.

While sanitizing your FemmyCycle is not required, we recommend that you sanitize your FemmyCycle twice a month- once before monthly use and once following completion of your period. It is well established that some yeast or fungal organisms can grow on silicone devices and cause persistent yeast infections, so sanitizing the FemmyCycle and replacing the device every one to two years will decrease this risk.

FemmyCycle Sanitizing Instructions

To sanitize the FemmyCycle you will either need bleach or white vinegar and warm water.

If using bleach, mix a solution of 5% bleach and 95% warm water and soak the FemmyCycle for approximately 30 minutes in a bowl. Rinse thoroughly before use or storage.

If using white vinegar, mix a solution of 10% white vinegar and 90% warm water and soak the FemmyCycle for approximately 30 minutes in a bowl. Rinse thoroughly before use or storage.

Alternately you can boil the FemmyCycle, however please do not boil in water for more than 5 minutes. Over time, boiling can degrade the silicone and compromise the device, so be sure to do so with caution.
